This top fermented stowt has is modelled after the English style 'Stout' Skipper Stowt is an almost black beer with a thick head. The use of heavy, roasted malts gives the beer a full and roasted/smokey taste and also notes of liquorice. Finally the roasted malts, beside the hops, also contributes to the bitterness. The name 'Skipper' comes from the export of stout from England to other contries including Denmark originally happening over sea. Actually back in the 1500's there was a canal through Aalborg - close to our 'backyard'.
